Boardwalk is a limited partnership operating in the midstream portion of the natural gas and natural gas liquids industry, providing transportation and storage services for our customers. Boardwalk understands that our success depends upon creating value for our customers. Our assets connect important supply resources to growing markets for natural gas and natural gas liquids. We have the experience, knowledge, and flexibility to design service offerings and create system enhancements tailored to our customers’ needs.

What We Do

Natural Gas Transportation

In 2022, Boardwalk’s interstate, open-access, pipeline network transported approximately 3.4 Tcf of natural gas through nearly 14,000 miles of pipe across the central and eastern United States. Our pipelines provide takeaway capacity from important supply basins such as the Barnett, Eagle Ford, Haynesville, SCOOP/STACK, Woodford, Marcellus, and Utica shale plays. We directly serve end-use markets throughout the Midwest and across the Southeast and provide LNG and industrial markets across the Gulf Coast access to reliable and affordable supply sources. Our long-haul and reticulated pipeline networks are interconnected to additional off-system markets through unaffiliated interstate and intrastate facilities.

Natural Gas Storage

Boardwalk’s underground natural gas storage assets provide our transportation customers with valuable optionality. Our combination of high deliverability salt-dome and depleted reservoir caverns provide approximately 213 Bcf of aggregate working gas storage capacity. Boardwalk’s firm and interruptible storage services provide our customers with the flexibility to meet peak-day needs; manage daily, intra-month, and seasonal swings in demand; and navigate financial market volatility.

Liquids Transportation and Storage

Boardwalk owns and operates liquids pipelines in Louisiana and Texas and has over 32.3 MMbbls of liquids storage capacity in Louisiana. We also provide brine and brine supply services to support liquid storage operations and chlor-akali customers.
